Richard Misrach

Updated: Nov 26, 2022

I chanced upon a Robert Adams book whilst looking for a book for Mike, when I remembered Aperture. Went on it and saw a photography series book by Richard Misrach, bought it for Mike and myself.

Last weekend, we drove to Nevada's high desert to camp. Coming back, we visited Nevada Museum of Art and there, we saw Richard Misrach's photo of Desert Fire #249. Back home, I received my recently purchased "Extraction: Art on the Edge of the Abyss" magazine, a compilation of all the exhibitions by artists on the theme of extraction. I had started following an artist who extracts raw materials from the mountains to make paint and her work is in this magazine. I was browsing through it when Richard Misrach's work showed up again.
